When you apply best practices to your horse management program and learn to improve your body alignment and strength, your confidence with your horse will skyrocket. You will improve your communication with your horse, understand how they are feeling and if something is too difficult for them, and have fun asking them "what do you need from me?" You'll also establish a system to catch soundness issues early so you can keep working towards your performance goals.
Why is it called IW365?
Working on your fitness, mindset, and horse management skills never ends. You probably have a plan to take regular riding lessons, which is great. This program is the pre-work you do to prepare for your lessons. It's work you do off the horse to get yourself fit, and work you do with your horse in the barn to keep them healthy, sound, and ready to perform. I call it IW365 because I want you to play the long game. I want to help you be consistent with your training plan, and when your plan gets derailed (which it will, that's called life!), give you something to come back to.
What's Included in IW365?
Each month you get workout plans, exercises for your horse, mindset training, and other educational resources. You'll look forward to the beginning of each month when the fun arrives!
✔️ A fitness program designed for riders that strengthens the right muscles and teaches your body how to properly fire those muscles together so you can be more effective on your horse. This program gets you stronger and improves your motor control. It includes body mobilization drill to improve body alignment and balance exercises.
✔️ Exercises for your horse to improve their core strength, posture, proprioception, and neuromuscular control. These are a combination of ground and ridden exercises you can incorporate in your training program. You get exercises and an in-depth explanation as to what they are working and how to properly perform them.
✔️ Mental training exercises. You’ll learn how to do them, why they work, and how to include them in your program. You will be building a mental training toolbox and you will learn how to use the right tool for the right job.
✔️ Access to Physiotec, an exercise program app that will help you stay on track. Through this platform, you can easily communicate with Shelley to get your questions answered.
✔️ Regular coaching sessions about fitness, mindset, and performance management tools. I post short, frequent training videos in the WhatsApp group. Listen to them when you can and flag them to go back to when you need to hear it again!
✔️ A monthly group coaching call. You can submit your questions and apply to be in the “hot seat” where I review your case and give suggestions. It’s a great way to get some 1:1 coaching without paying the 1:1 price! The recording is archived so you can listen if you can’t attend live.
✔️ Challenges and deep dive groups. Inside IW365, there will be challenges and deep dive groups on special interest topics. Perhaps you really want to focus on your hip mobility or eating healthy. It's fun and motivating to follow a program with other people with goals and action plans. A calendar is released quarterly with the challenge and deep dive topics.
✔️ Private Facebook group. This will be a fun spot to communicate with other IW365 members and listen to guest interviews on performance and horse management topics. The interviews will also be archived in the membership portal, so you can access them anytime.
✔️ WhatsApp group so you can easily stay up-to-date on content, trainings, and events.

The workouts are designed by Shelley Thomas, a physical therapist and rider. Shelley's been a physical therapist for 20+ years with extensive experience working with athletes, helping people recover from injuries, and keeping the aging athlete in the game! Shelley also has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and has applied this knowledge in her clinical practice to help people achieve their goals. It’s all brought together because Shelley is a horse person and rider and knows what’s needed to be successful in equestrian sports.
When you work with Shelley, you don’t need to hire six different people. You can create an effective training program with just two coaches: Shelley to help you with your physical and mental training, and your riding coach to help you with your skills on the horse.
IW365 helps you improve your strength, body alignment, and balance. It also helps you learn how to monitor your horse's soundness and how they are handling their workload. You'll learn how to listen to your horse and catch clues early if they are uncomfortable. This program also helps you develop a quiet, calm, resilient mindset which is very much needed when you work with horses!
No. You have access to the content while enrolled in IW365, but if you discontinue your membership, you will lose access.
IW365 is designed to help equestians who want to be work on themselves (fitness, body alignment, mindset) and want to learn how to design safe, effective training programs for your horse.
It is designed for 15+ years old.
IW365 requires minimal equipment. When you enroll you will receive a suggested equpment list. Dumbbells, a physioball, and a resistance band is all that is required.
Workouts, horse exercises, and mindset exercises are released the first of each month.
Throughout the month there are short coaching calls in the WhatsApp group. There is a more formal group coaching session held via Zoom each month for an in-depth training and case study review.
Guest interviews will be housed in the Facebook group and membership portal (in case you aren't in the Facebook group).
