Fast Forward Your Riding Skills with Improved Body Awareness & Control
The goal of this challenge is to complete 20 workouts in 30 days. These workouts are different than your typical program. They focus on body alignment, neuromuscular control, and activation. By understanding your movement restrictions and habitual patterns, you can learn how to improve your body control.
Since you are an equestrian, you're incredibly busy. Do you struggle with finding time to workout? In this challenge, the workouts are 20 minutes long. You'll learn how to get maximum benefit from short workouts. No more excuses about not getting your workout completed!
MINDSET TRAINING
Learn to Quiet Your Mind, Connect with Your Body, and Flow with Your Horse
Do you feel like your brain is always really busy? When your coach tries to tell you how to change your riding, you just can't feel what they want you to do? You don't think you're out of shape. You just feel disconnected, like the right and left hands aren't communicating (literally).
Body control isn't just about nerves and muscles. It's about being able to breathe into restrictions, focus your mind and allow flow, and make tiny changes that improve your symmetry in the saddle. In this challenge you'll learn about the body-mind connection and get brain training workouts too.
What's in the Challenge?
Workouts
You get 20 workouts (handouts and videos) designed to improve your motor control and body alignment. The workouts are 15-20 minutes long, so you can fit them into your busy schedule.
Mindset Training
There will be mindset training and exercises. Learn how to use meditation, tapping, visualization, journaling, and surrender to help your riding. Your horse will thank you.
Prizes
This is a consistentcy challenge. There are weekly prizes for getting your workouts done! The prizes are super useful and products Shelley uses in her equine physical therapy practice.
Community
Join the Equestrian Mind-Body Challenge community. You'll be motivated by other riders working to improve and not want to miss a workout or mindset training! And when life happens and your schedule doesn't go as planned, this group will help you get back on track.
How Does the Challenge Work?
The goal is 20 workouts in 30 days
These exercises are more physical therapy than Olympic lifting. The workouts won't be the hardest thing you've ever done. Don't expect to get your heart pounding and sweat like crazy. Rather, you'll work on finding restrictions and being a detective - what gets your body to let go?
Meditation isn't a Dirty Word
Your body knows what to do to allow you to be a better rider. Your brain is so busy you've forgotten how to listen. Can you imagine how great it will feel to quiet your mind and stay in the present moment. In this challenge, you'll learn to manage your vibrational state and elevate your energy. Sound a little woo? It's seriously amazing stuff and will make your horse meet you at the gate.
Consistency is the Name of the Game
Hit and miss fitness and mindset training isn't effective. This challenge is all about fitting 15-20 minutes of self-care into your busy schedule to improve your riding. It's about learning how to make those 20 minutes really matter with targeted body alignment and mindset exercises.
The Nuts & Bolts
Here's how the challenge works.
The challenge is September 1-30, 2023. The goal is to help you improve your focus, body control, and effectiveness on your horse. Think physical therapy + fitness coaching + mindset coaching + equitation. It's a power-packed challenge and you'll have so much fun!
The Workouts
At the start of the challenge, you get 20 workouts with training videos and written instructions. They require minimal equipment (physioball, balance pad, resistance band, light - medium weights).
The Calendar
You will receive a suggested calendar for the workouts. They are 15-20 minutes long and are easy to fit into your day (even if you are a crazy busy equestrian!).
The Trainings
Each week, Shelley will teach about mindset, energy, and body connection. You will have weekly homework exercises for your mindset and focus. Your horse will love you for doing this work!
The Accountability
You'll post in the Facebook group or complete the accountability tracker that your workout and mindset trainings are complete. There will be a weekly drawing for great prizes, plus a grand prize drawing for people who get all 20 workouts and 4 mindset trainings done!

I specialize in sports performance therapy and am certified as a Champion Performance Specialist. I started my business, Intrepid Wellness, in 2017, and exclusively work with horses and riders.
I am a Certified Equine Rehabilitation Practitioner from the University of Tennessee and a Permitted Equine Therapist for FEI events. I’m currently working on my postgraduate diploma in equine osteopathy through the London College of Animal Osteopathy. Never stop learning!
